Rushcliffe CVS runs an accredited volunteer centre in Rushcliffe and Broxtowe. We support people to get in to volunteering both within the organisation and elsewhere. We hold a number of volunteer roles across the borough and need some additional support to manage our social media accounts.

 

What you will be doing

To write, design and schedule posts on our social media pages
Creating templates for good news stories, volunteer opportunities of the week etc.
Using applications such as Hootsuite and Canva
Using both Facebook and Twitter
Promoting our services as well as other organisations or events relevant to Rushcliffe

 

Skills, interests and requirements for the role

Volunteers should have:

  • A genuine interest in volunteering
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Good time keeping and reliability
  • Basic literacy and organisational skills
  • Confident using social media and relevant apps such as Canva and Hootsuite (Training will be provided if needed)
  • Willingness to participate in training and to work within the policies and procedures of the project and of Rushcliffe CVS

 

When and where

Our offices in Cotgrave, for up to 3 hours. We are flexible so this may be weekly or fortnightly.

We encourage volunteers to stay for a minimum period of six months.

Support Offered

We provide induction training to ensure volunteers are prepared for their roles and to help them feel more confident.
Training sessions on particular topics to develop knowledge and skills will be organised when a need is identified.
Support and supervision on a regular basis.

Volunteers are reimbursed for all reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering. This includes travel and activity costs.

 

Other Information

All volunteers will also need to provide two references. If you are struggling to do this, please speak with us.

The selection process will involve completing a short application form and a chat with the coordinator to discuss the role in more detail. After this, if the role seems like it would suit you, we will follow up on references, and invite you in for training.
