Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service and Westdale Care Home have teamed up in an exciting collaboration to make a positive impact in the community.

Our shared commitment to improving lives has led us to join forces and bring a range of services that will benefit individuals and enhance their quality of life. This partnership will change lives for the better!

Expanding the Voluntary Transport Service

Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service have access to Westdale Care Home’s minibus. This allows us to extend support to the community by providing group services for activities like shopping trips. Dedicated volunteer drivers will be behind the wheel, ensuring a safe and convenient journey. Other volunteers will be available to offer extra help as needed, making the experience even more pleasant.

Benefitting Residents and the Wider Community

We’re not only here to benefit users of our Transport Service but also the residents of Westdale Care Home. Our team of volunteer drivers will take the residents on exciting trips to local destinations. It’s all about creating meaningful experiences and allowing everyone to enjoy new adventures.

A Community-Driven Initiative

We want you to know that both Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service and Westdale Care Home are charity organisations deeply committed to serving the community. Together we want to create a positive impact on the lives of the community. By combining our resources and expertise, we can expand our reach and make a difference in the lives of many.

A Testimonial from Barbara

We have a heartwarming story to share with you! Barbara, one of the passengers who recently experienced our new minibus service, couldn’t contain her delight. She expressed how thrilled she was to be able to go out shopping for the first time since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Barbara’s story serves as a lovely reminder of the tangible impact this partnership has on individuals’ lives. It’s about empowering people to regain their independence, access services, and participate in activities they value and enjoy.

To ensure the success of this program, we’re calling upon caring individuals from the community to step forward and volunteer as minibus drivers and passenger escorts. It only takes a few hours of your time every week, and your contribution will make a massive difference to the quality of life for people like Barbara.

“We are delighted to join forces with Westdale Care Home and contribute to the well-being of their residents,” said Carole Green, Operations Manager at Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service. “The shared joy and experiences resulting from these outings and visits will undoubtedly create lasting memories and significantly improve the overall quality of life for all involved.”

“Westdale is thrilled to be working with Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service helping people in the community get out about and putting our minibus to good use.” Stuart Best – Director Westdale

“I think the drivers are really good, it’s like having a friend driving for us” Sheila – Westdale resident

To volunteer as a minibus driver or as a passenger escort, all you have to do is commit to a few hours a week, Rushcliffe Community and Voluntary Service will provide full training and you really could make a difference.
