Support for Volunteer led Organisations
The Volunteer Centre
We support organisations to promote their volunteering opportunities and encourage good volunteer management practice.
We can provide the following to organisations that are registered with us:
Help with Volunteer Recruitment
We can actively promote your volunteering opportunities through a variety of different platforms:
- Notts.getvolunteering.co.uk
Register your organisation on Volunteer Plus, our volunteering database. Registering with us ensures that prospective Volunteers can easily find you when they search our online database or the national Get Volunteering database. - Social Media
harness the power of social media as we showcase your Volunteer Opportunities on our ‘Volunteering Opportunity of the Week’ post. If you have your social media pages we can share them on our own. - Volunteering Events
we will let you know about any events we are running, where you can promote your Volunteering Opportunities and directly connect with prospective Volunteers. - Our Volunteer Centre Coordinator
will also flag your opportunities to potential volunteers when they get in touch looking for suitable Volunteer Opportunities.
Develop Best Practice within your organisation
Assist you to develop Best Practice within your organisation which can help you to retain, support and develop your team of volunteers.
Join our Volunteer Coordinators Network (VCN)
- Attend regular VCN Meetings to meet, share insights, exchange ideas and make new connections. It is also a great opportunity for you to tell us what YOU would like the Volunteer Centre to assist with! Meetings are held quarterly.
- Receive regular news and updates – including volunteering, funding, training, and community information.
We represent all Volunteer led Organisations, and you can help us to be the ‘Voice of Volunteering’. By working closely with Volunteer led Organisations, we can increase awareness and share issues that we all face relating to and impacting upon Volunteering.
If you’d like help in how you involve volunteers, our experienced volunteering team is here to help. We can offer free, confidential advice and support.

Become a telephone befriender and help us protect more people from loneliness and isolation. Through regular calls and chats, this enjoyable and rewarding role provides reassurance, improves wellbeing and helps our phone companions to reconnect with their community.
